Circlips / Snap Rings / E-Clips
These are all names for the same thing. Normally metal clips which need to be either stretched (external) or squashed (internal) for installation or removal. There are two holes in the clip so that a pair of circlip pliers can be inserted for installation or removal.
Which Type of Circlip Snapring E-Clip Pliers Do I Need?

External Snap-Ring Pliers
External circlips are cliped onto the outside of a bar. For removal or installation, the clip needs to be stretched over the bar. External circlip pliers open outwards when the pliers are squeezed.

Internal Snap-Ring Pliers
Internal circlips are less common than external circlips. These are used in applications inside hollow areas. For removal or installation, the clip needs to be squashed into the hollow. Exrternal circlip pliers close inwards when the pliers are squeezed.

Straight or Bent Pliers
This depends on where the clip is that you need to remove. Straight or bent pliers perform the same task, but allow for access in awkward areas. Our sets of 4 pliers contain both straight and bent nose pliers.
